Talking with CNBC, Hewlett Packard's (NYSE: HP) senior Vice President Bill Delacy elaborated upon the company’s new innovation ‘Magcloud’.
Delacy said that the print industry is ripe for a change. According to him, 3 billion copies of print material are produced every year and 60 percent of this is scrapped. He said that it leads to a huge waste of resources.
Delacy said that the ‘Magcloud’ technique lets the consumer customize their output. Thus, this technique makes publishing more efficient and environment friendly. He said that HP is collaborating with UNESCO to provide grid technology to African universities.
