Three out of four prescriptions in the U.S. are filled by generics.

CNBC's Mike Huckman reports that Caylon Securities has conducted a poll regarding the use of generic drugs. The study has come up with some interesting facts.

According to the report, 65% of the pharmacists expressed their concern about generic-drug safety. However, only 15% said that they place more trust on brand-name drugs than generics. 75% of the respondents said that the drug bottles should display the drug manufacturer's name and the name of the country where the drug was manufactured. Teva (NASdAQ: TEVA), Mylan (NASDAQ: MYL) and Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) Greenstone generic drug units emerged as the top three favorite generic drug manufacturers.
