Talking with CNBC, Greg Genovese, President of Securities at Thompson National Properties, said that the commercial real estate markets are nearing a bottom and thus now is the good time to start investing in real estate.

However, he has a word of caution for investors. According to him, investors need to be careful about where they are investing, the asset type and the leverage. At the same time, Jordan Sadler, REIT analyst at KeyBanc Capital Markets, concurred with Greg about REITs bottoming out. He said that there are opportunities to make money in the REITs. He particularly liked DuPont Fabros (NYSE: DFT), Entertainment Properties (NYSE: EPR) and Camden Property (NYSE: CPT).
