On CNBC's Fast Money, Karen Finerman talked about stocks that have an acquisition offer on the table, but are overly discounted relative to the price offered in the acquisition.
She named Alcon, Inc. (NYSE: ACL), Airgas, Inc. (NYSE: ARG), Smith International, Inc. (NYSE: SII) and General Growth Properties, Inc (NYSE: GGP) as stocks that should be considered for a buy.
Alcon, Inc. (NYSE: ACL) is her favorite, because Novartis AG (ADR) (NYSE: NVS) is a reliable buyer. There is a $0.32 spread between acquisition price and market price, says Karen Finerman. Alcon (ACL) closed at $138.77 today.
She believes that there is a high probability the Smith International, Inc. (SII) deal will go through. There is a $1.85 spread in SII.
Karen Finerman wants to play Airgas (ARG) with options. There is a $0.21 spread between acquisition price and market price in ARG.
A spread in General Growth (GGP) is $2.25.
