Supported by extensive experience of its analyst team and based on its strategy that targets companies that are on the verge of achieving volume or margin growth, Fred Alger Management, Inc., is finding that its investments are paying off. Speaking with Barron’s, Dan Chung, CEO and chief investment officer, feels that more upside is still possible in the stock market.

However, Chung cautions that the economy could struggle as the effects of stimulus programs die down and if the stimulus programs grind to a halt. According to him, there could be a 25% growth in earnings in 2010. Chung is of the opinion that the sharp economic downturn has wiped out competition. Now, survivors can enjoy superior growth rates. He feels that the personal computer industry and the chip makers like Atheros Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATHR) and Skyworks Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: SWKS) are expected to do well.
