Barron’s has released its new list – The World’s Most Respected Companies. The list has Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) at the top.

Among the Top 5 placeholders are Johnson &Johnson (NYSE: JNJ), Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG), IBM (NYSE: IBM), and Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.A).

Citigroup (NYSE: C) held the 100th position in the list, with Russia’s Gazprom (ADR) (OTC: OGZPY) holding the 99th rank.

According to Barron’s, respected companies share characteristics such as strong management, valuable products, and services, and good governance.
