Keith Brosnan, an accountant from Cincinnati, has won the 2009 Barron’s forecasting challenge. Brosnan, 50, considers himself to be a conservative investor and he reads a lot of financial statements.
Brosnan bought Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) in 2001. He also has Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG) and Fifth Third Bancorp (NASDAQ: FITB) in his portfolio. According to him, he bought Fifth Third a year ago, when the bank was on the verge of collapse and was trading at $1. The Fifth Third stock is now trading at $12. Keith scored 10 out of 18 points on the Barron’s quiz.
