CBS Corporation (NYSE: CBS) has converted “The Early Show” into the “Adam Lambert Show” and booked Adam Lambert immediately after ABC’s “Good Morning America” divested the singer from 30 Rock, given his risque sexual performance at Sundays American Music Awards.
CBS milked Lambert’s appearance to the fullest on Wednesday even as he crossed over to CBS territory. The issue with Adam’s performance that called for ABC’s ire was when he grinded his crotch against a dancer’s face. Adam said later that he did get carried away after working hard with his band and dancers for two weeks to put the show together.
He admits the show may have offended people, but he had not intended it to be so. He just wanted to interpret the lyrics to his song and enjoy himself up there. The moves were not rehearsed and even ABC was taken by surprise. He even thinks that people reacted in that way as he is gay. Adam feels that had a female pop performer done the same steps, no one would have reacted similarly, which he feels smacks of double standards.
