Cotton Futures Little Higher

May New York Cotton is trading at 76.90, up 0.33 cents/lb. July New York Cotton is trading at 77.90, up 0.40 cents/lb. New York cotton futures are trading at the session highs. Chatter about global growth and the U.S. growing season ahead is making the rounds. The USDA reported on Friday that cotton export sales as of February 16th are now 89.7 percent of the agency forecast versus the five year average of 86 percent. The USDA estimate for cotton acreage is at 11.5 million acres, up around 14 percent from a year ago.
