Sugar Futures Trading Higher

March New York Sugar is trading at 21.20, up 0.22 cents/lb. May New York Sugar is trading at 21.03, up 0.23 cents/lb. New York Sugar futures are trading just under the session highs. Chatter about global sugar supplies and demand is making the rounds. India's sugar production as of January 15th was down 5.3 percent to 10.48 million tons versus a year ago. Sugar mills in India sold 5.98 million tonnes of sugar from October through the end of December, down from 6.53 million tonnes of sugar sold a year ago.
