Lean Hog Futures Little Lower

February lean hogs are trading at 53.80, down 0.27 cents/lb. April lean hogs are trading at 60.15, down 0. 30 cents/lb. Lean hog futures are trading choppy and a little lower. Market talk about weather ahead for animal movement, cash prices and consumer demand has kept buyers and sellers active. Thursday's USDA hog slaughter was 426,000 head. The total for the week is now 1.752 million head, up from 1.749 head a year ago.
