Lean Hog Futures Edge Lower

December lean hogs are trading at 43.82, down 0.77 cents/lb. February lean hogs are trading at 50.65, down 0.72 cents/lb. Lean hog futures are trading choppy and near the session lows after a mixed open. Tuesday's USDA hog slaughter was 442,000 head, the total for the week is now 885,000 head, up from 881,000 last week and up from 862,000 a year ago.
