Live Cattle Futures Lower

October live cattle is trading at 105.67, down 0.67 cents/lb. December live cattle is trading at 107.45, down 0.65 cents/lb. February live cattle is trading at 107.60, down 0.62 cents/lb. Live cattle futures are trading lower just after the open. Friday's USDA estimated cattle slaughter was 112,000 head and Saturday's was 37,000 head. The total for last week was 600,000 head versus 599,000 head the previous week and up 8.5 percent versus a year ago. Cattle futures are trading near contract lows, trading is expected to be very choppy.
