Live Cattle Futures Higher

October live cattle is trading at 109.17, up 0.65 cents/lb. December live cattle is trading at 110.57, up 0.62 cents/lb. February live cattle is trading at 110.25, up 0.47 cents/lb. Live cattle futures are trading higher just after the open. Thursday's USDA estimated cattle slaughter was 113,000 head. The total for the week is now 451,000 head, down from 452,000 head a week ago and up from 437,000 head last year at this time.
