Live Cattle Futures Move Down

October live cattle is trading at 109.17, down 0.55 cents/lb. December live cattle is trading at 110.42, down 0.55 cents/lb. February live cattle is trading at 110.57, down 0.55 cents/lb. Live cattle futures are trading lower just after the open Wednesday. Market chatter about the supply of cattle ahead and cash prices is making the rounds. Tuesday's USDA estimated cattle slaughter was 113,000 head. The total for the week is now 225,000 head, down from 226,000 head a week ago and up from 218,000 last year at this time.
