S&P 500 Index Futures Trading Lower In Volatile Session

S&P 500 index futures were trading lower by 18 points at 2007.50 in Friday's session. Off a weak open, the index found support just under its pre-market low (2008.75), reaching 2007.50 before rebounding. The ensuing rally found resistance ahead of the close (2025.50), only reaching 2022, before retreating and making a new low for the day at 2003.

All of the top 10 components in the index were in the red. Leading the way on the downside is the index's top component Apple Inc. AAPL shares which were trading lower by $3.00 at $109.65. It is followed by JP Morgan JPM shares which were trading lower by $1 at 64.94.

The closet issue to unchanged for the day is Exxon Mobil XOM shares which were trading lower by $0.25 at $74.32.
