Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NYSE: WPI) third-quarter net income fell to $63 million, or 55 cents a share and on an adjusted basis, earnings in the latest quarter were 66 cents a share. While its net revenue rose to $662 million from $641 million versus Analysts estimations of 64 cents a share on sales of $688 million.

Transocean LTD. (NYSE: RIG) reported that its third-quarter net income fell to $710 million, or $2.19 a share. Excluding 46 cents a share in one-time charges, RIG earned $2.65 a share. While, revenue fell to $2.82 billion from $2.88 billion compared to Wall Street estimates of $2.61 a share on revenue of $2.82 billion.

Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. (NYSE: MMC) swings to profit stood and earned $221 million, or 41 cents a share, compared to a loss of $8 million, or 2 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Total revenue was $2.5 billion, down from $2.8 billion in the third quarter of 2008, its adjusted profit in the latest quarter was 48 cents a share. Analysts surveyed by FactSet Research expected, on average, adjusted profit of 27 cents a share on revenue of $2.6 billion.

Ambac Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: ABK) soared over 24% after it swung to a profit of $2.19 billion, or $7.58 a share, from a loss of $2.43 billion, or $8.45 a share, a year ago. Total revenue also rose to a positive $2.69 billion, from a negative $2.32 billion last year.
