F To Add 1,200 Jobs At Its Chicago Plants
Ford (NYSE: F) today confirmed that it plans to add 1,200 jobs at its Chicago manufacturing facilities.
F will be adding the jobs to further its aim of launching the production of its new, fuel-efficient Ford Explorer. For this, the company is investing roughly $400 million in its Chicago manufacturing facilities. The company will also be hiring about 1,200 workers to staff a second production shift at its Chicago Assembly Plant and raise production at the nearby Chicago Stamping Plant.
F’s shares rose 3.63% to $11.43.
