Private Education Provider, Apollo Group (NASDAQ: APOL) beat Wall Street estimates when they reported after the bell today, but apparently it wasn't by enough. Apollo (APOL) posted earnings of $1.47 versus estimates of $1.46.

This earnings release was not sufficient to keep Apollo's investors happy, as the stock is down 4.68% in the after market session. Apollo (APOL) had been moving up this week ahead of this report so clearly a number of traders were looking for a more substantial earnings per share beat than the penny that APOL managed to give them.
