CarMax, Inc (NYSE: KMX) today reported a third-quarter profit of $74.6 million as compared to a loss of $21.9 million in the year ago period. Analysts on an average expected CarMax to earn $0.16 a share on sales of $1.63 billion. CarMax is currently trading trading at $23.70, increased by 8.62% in the pre-market session. The 52-week trading range for KMX is $6.92 - $23.07. So far in the current year, KMX gained over 175%.

Rosetta Genomics Ltd. (USA) (NASDAQ: ROSG) announced its third-quarter net loss of $3.42 million as compared to $2.98 million from the same quarter last year. Loss per share from continuing operations for the third quarter was $0.24 as compared to $0.25 in the year ago period. The 52-week trading range for ROSG is $1.08 - $3.80. In the previous trading session, ROSG closed at $2.09.

Research In Motion Limited (USA) (NASDAQ: RIMM) yesterday reported that it earned $628.4 million, or $1.10 a share, as compared to $396.3 million, or $0.69 share, in the year-ago period. Total revenue for the third quarter was $3.92 billion, from $2.78 billion from the same quarter last year. Analysts on an average expected RIMM to report earnings of $1.04 a share on revenue of $3.78 billion. For the fourth quarter, RIMM expects revenue to be in between $4.2 billion - $4.4 billion and earnings to be in the range of $1.23 - $1.31 per diluted share. Research In Motion Limited is currently trading at $70.31, surged by 10.79% in the pre-market session. So far in 2009, RIMM gained over 55%. In the last trading session, RIMM closed at $63.46.

Palm, Inc. (NASDAQ: PALM) declined by 7.68% to $10.82 after it reported net loss of $81.9 million, or $0.54 a share, from a loss of $508.2 million, or $4.64 a share, a year ago. Total revenue for the quarter was $78.1 million. Analysts were expecting the company to report a net loss of 32 cents per share on revenue of $266.2 million. So far in the current year, PALM gained over 280%.
