General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE) is close to selling its shares of NBC Universal to Comcast Corp. (NASDAQ: CMCSA) General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt met with Vivendi CEO Jean Bernard Levy in France to talk about the sale.

The talks are supposed to help get Vivendi to agree on a value for the stocks and sell their share to continue with the push to sell the controlling stake to Comcast Corp. In the talks, the two are less than $500 million apart and the talks are now dependent on the cash Vivendi will receive before the Comcast deal is completed.

Immelt was in Paris France for a previously scheduled trip to bid on the French owned Areva SA Power Transmission and Distribution. GE shares were up 0.37% to $16.18 a share. Comcast Share was down 0.33% to $15.07 a share.
