Pure Google (GOOG) Brand Phone All Set To Launch By Early 2010

Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) will be coming up with HTC (TPE: 2498) to launch a ‘super’ Android device which will be thinner than even the Droid or iPhone, and will be called either The Dragon or The Passion. The phone is being tested by the senior management for the time being. The Dragon/Passion will be a touch screen phone with all of Droid's features.
However, there are also rumors of a pure Google branded phone to be hitting the markets soon. Google is building their own branded phone that they’ll sell directly and through retailers by early 2010. Though the phone will be produced by a major phone manufacturer, it will only have Google branding.
There are expectations that HTC, a Taiwanese company, is building the new Google phone. However, there are also rumors that Google is working with a Korean phone manufacturer on the Google phone – LG (NYSE: LPL) or Samsung (LI: SMSN). Only time will tell who Google partners with in the end.
