National Oilwell Varco To Start Paying Dividend

National Oilwell Varco (NYSE: NOV), the maker of oil and gas drilling equipment, announced it will pay a special dividend of $1 a share and begin paying a quarterly dividend of 10 cents a share.
Both dividends will be paid on Dec. 16 to stockholders of record on Dec. 2. NOV said it had $3.2 billion in cash and cash equivalents as of September 30.
