WMT reports Q3 results; raises guidance
Wal-Mart Stores Inc (NYSE: WMT) reported its FQ3 profits per share from continuing operations at $0.84, beating consensus estimates of analysts surveyed by Bloomberg by $0.03. WMT’s net sales for the quarter were $98.667 billion, reflecting a y/y increase of 1.1%. With about $3.6 billion of free cash flows generated by WMT through the first three quarters of FY10, the company’s free cash flow generation remained robust.
Wal-Mart Stores has raised its profit guidance for the fiscal year 2010 to $3.57-$3.61 a share, up from $3.50-$3.60 per share. WMT has also projected its Q4 profit per share at $1.08-$1.12.
