BMC Software (BMC) Reports 43% Increase In Fourth-Quarter Profit

BMC Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: BMC) has reported a 43% increase in its fourth-quarter profit. The company reported fourth-quarter profit of $118.8 million, or $0.64 per share, compared with a profit of $83.3 million, or $0.44 per share it reported for the same period last year.

Excluding items, the company reported a profit of $0.65 per share. Revenue increased by 2.5% to $491.3 million in the quarter. Analysts were expecting BMC Software to report a profit of $0.70 per share and revenue of $509 million.

Despite strong fourth-quarter results, shares of BMC Software, Inc. were down by 2.89% to $36.98 in after-hours trading.
