Northern Trust Misses Estimates (NTRS)
Northern Trust Co. (NASDAQ: NTRS) reported their quarterly earnings numbers prior to the opening bell today, missing Wall Street estimates. The Chicago based company's net income increased to $157.2 million or $0.64 per share versus $138.8 million or $0.61 per share in last year's corresponding quarter. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters anticipated that the company would post EPS of $0.72, so this was a fairly large miss on the bottom line.
Revenues came in at $907.6 million compared to $904.2 million in the year ago period. This missed analysts consensus revenue estimates of $913.54 million. During today's trading session, NTRS shares have fallen 5.24% to $55.31.
