Goldman’s Rajat Gupta To Be Examined In Galleon Case (GS)

Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) Group Director, Rajat Gupta, is in the crosshairs of prosecutors probing the Galleon Group case. According to Reuters, the authorities are examining whether Rajat Gupta provided Raj Rajaratnam with inside information about Goldman Sachs (GS). However, a spokesperson for the Goldman Sachs director, said, “Mr. Gupta is unaware of any examination of any such issue and has done nothing wrong.”

Galleon Group hedge fund founder Raj Rajaratnam, has pleaded not guilty to criminal insider trading charges. According to Wall Street Journal, Rajat Gupta is a close associate of Raj Rajaratnam. Goldman Sachs was not available for comment. A spokesman for Rajaratnam also did not return a call. Goldman has already announced that Rajat Gupta will not be standing for re-election to its board.
