Gainers
Shares of National Dentex Corp (NASDAQ: NADX) soared 68% after the operator said that it is to be acquired by GDC Holdings Inc for $17 a share.
Keryx Biopharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ: KERX) gained 22.3% after the drug manufacturer received fast track status from the US regulators for its colorectal cancer treatment drug.
Microvision Inc (NASDAQ: MVIS) shares climbed 18.5% after the maker of projection display products said that it had an $8.5 million order for its latest engine.
The engineered materials company, Brush Engineered Materials Inc (NYSE: BW), shot up 15.2% after it increased its sales forecasts for 2010.
Eastman Kodak Co (NYSE: EK) shares advanced 13.2%.
Harley-Davidson Inc (NYSE: HOG) shares moved up 10.5% after RBC Capital upped its price target for the motorcycle manufacturer.
Cree Inc (NASDAQ: CREE) gained 10% after UBS raised its rating on the energy-efficient lighting firm to “buy” from “neutral.”
Arena Resources Inc (NYSE: ARD) rose 7.2% after its competitor SandRidge Energy Inc (NYSE: SD) announced its decision to acquire ARD for over $1.5 billion.
Losers
STR Holdings (NASDAQ: STRI) lost 5.4% after the laboratory software provider said that it would merge with Accelrys Inc (NASDAQ: ACCL).
Shares of Tesoro Corp (NYSE: TSO) also fell 5.4% after the company disclosed that five people had died and two had been critically injured in a fire at its refinery in Anacortes, Washington.
