MetroGames Gets $5 Million Funding

According to ”Social Gaming StartUp Gets $5 Million Funding”,”TechCrunch”, Argentinean social gaming company, MetroGames, has received a series A funding of $5 million from Playdom. The funding will be used to expand the development of new social games.

John Pleasants, CEO of Playdom, said that the MetroGames will become the ‘next big player’ in the social gaming industry. He also joined the company’s board of directors. Currently, the startup has about 30 games on Facebook and its own social gaming website.

Playdom is valued at $260 million and recently raised $43 million in funding. It has about 28 million users of its popular games on MySpace and Facebook.
