Bloomberg reports that Google, Inc.’s (NASDAQ: GOOG) Chinese advertising agents have asked the company to provide them with a compensation plan in case it decides to exit China.
In a letter addressed to John Liu, Vice President of sales at Google for the greater China region, Google’s agents in China, who rely on the company’s existence in the country, have asked it to disclose compensation plans to them. The letter to Google was posted on China Central Television, a Chinese broadcaster. Google spokeswoman Jill Hazelbaker said that the company was reviewing the letter.
The letter said, “We have been suffering losses everyday and daily business has been almost zero, so we need your response. We can’t accept any suggestion by Google that this is a purely commercial move, or that our clients, staff and investors must accept the business risks.” The letter was posted by 27 of Google’s agent in China.
