Google Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG) expects mobile search ad rates to surpass the rates of its PC-based ads. Speaking at a web conference, Google Engineer Vic Gundotra said that Google (GOOG) mobile search volume has increased five-fold during the last two years. He did not specify the timeline for the crossover of rates.

VP Vic Gandotra said, “We hope and believe that there's even a chance that we could exceed desktop in the future.” He said the advanced technologies such as GPS data can pinpoint a user’s physical location. According to him, this information helps Google in creating “relevant” ads. Search giant Google is looking to increase its focus on mobile search business.
