A number of Prudential (NYSE: PUK) investors have expressed their skepticism over its bid for AIG’s (NYSE: AIG) Asian operations. The deal will increase Prudential’s (PUK) size by twofold. However, Prudential CEO Tidjane Thiam now has decided to subdue UK investors’ apprehensions. He is expected to conduct a talk with UK shareholders on Monday. UK investors have complained about the lack of communication regarding the deal.

Djiane Thiam said, “We have clear demand from Asian investors who want to come into the Pru and our U.S. investors are keen, of course our UK investors make up the majority of the base and our task ... is to demonstrate the real value of this transaction.”

UK investors have questioned the valuation methods used for valuing the AIG (AIG) deal.
