Kirkland (KIRK) Shares Rise On Higher Q4 Profit

Kirkland Inc. (NASDAQ: KIRK) reported a Q4 profit of $22.1 million ($1.08 a share) compared with $15.0 million (76 cents a share), a year earlier. Adjusted Q4 profit was 92 cents per share.
Sales rose 7% to $142.8 million and same-store sales increased 10.2%. The home accessories retailer, which plans to open 30 to 40 new stores and close 15 to 20 stores this year, also said it expects adjusted earnings to rise in 2010.
Shares of the company were up 3.08% to $20.12 at 3.58 p.m. on Friday in New York.
