The Wall Street Journal reports that private equity giant KKR & Co. LP made its initial filing on Friday with the SEC, taking a step closer to have its units listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
The private equity firm had said last month that it was close to listing its units in U.S. The company has been publicly traded on Euronext in Amsterdam since October 2007.
KKR had $52.2 billion in assets under management at the end of last year. The private equity firm saw a sharp rebound in its performance in 2009, when it reported $7.75 billion in investment income, compared with a loss of $12.87 billion in 2008.
