Aeropostale, Inc.’s (ARO) Fourth-Quarter Profit Up By 44%

Aeropostale, Inc. (NYSE: ARO), a mall-based specialty retailer of casual apparel and accessories, reported fourth-quarter results on Thursday.
The retailer reported a 44% increase in profit in its fourth-quarter. Aeropostale reported profit of $96.6 million, or $0.99 per share in its fourth-quarter, compared with a profit of $68.2 million, or $0.67 per share, a year earlier. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters had forecast EPS of $0.95.
Sales increased by 16% to $801.2 million. The company saw its same-store sales increase by 9% in the quarter. Gross margins improved by 350 basis points to 38.8%.
Aeropostale shares were up 3.84% to $28.09 in after-hours trading on Thursday.
