Panera Bread To Post Calorie Count (PNRA)

Panera Bread (NASDAQ: PNRA) has decided to disclose the calorie measure of all of its menu items. Panera Bread is the first national chain to do so. However, the calorie declarations are likely to shock Panera Bread’s patrons.

Seemingly healthy, many of its offerings are calorie bombs. However, Panera’s chief concept officer, Scott Davis said, “We realized that actually, it was a good thing for our business, not a negative thing."

The decision is partly due to the fact that an increasing number of state governments now require certain chains to report calorie information.
