Royal Dutch Shell (ADR) (NYSE: RDS.A) has halted its gasoline supply to Iran. The company has stopped the supply in response to a threat of sanctions from US.

A shell spokesperson said, “Shell is currently not selling gasoline to Iran." US senate has passed a bill that allows the President to expand sanctions against Iran. US government is now empowered to impose sanctions against most imports, and exports between the US, and Iran.

Shell spokesperson said, “"If there was new legislation or sanctions, obviously we would comply with them as we would for any country."
