Latest Prius Tale Prompts Fresh Probe (TM)

The problems for Toyota Motor Corp. (ADR) (NYSE: TM) do not seem to end. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Toyota and federal investigators are probing into the latest incident involving the company’s Prius.
On Monday, a California man called 911 for help as his Toyota Prius sped up to 90 miles an hour on interstate 8. A California Highway Patrolman helped to slow down the vehicle, and bring it to an eventual stop.
The reports of the incident spread like wild fire on Tuesday, with television shows airing interviews of 61-year old James Sikes, the man driving the Prius involved in the incident.
The latest incident occurred only a few hours after Toyota gave a presentation to demonstrate that there is no flaw in its vehicles´ electronics.
