Fortune Brands, Inc. (FO) To Sell Cobra Brand

Fortune Brands, Inc. (NYSE: FO), a diversified consumer products company, announced on Wednesday that it was selling the Cobra golf line brand to Puma AG, the German sportswear maker.

Fortune is selling the Cobra brand to focus more on existing golf brands, however, it expects that the sell off would lower the EPS in 2010.

The sale would include the brand, inventory, intellectual property, and endorsement contracts.
