Low Value Volume Plays For March 10, 2010 (QLTI, JMBA, RMIX)
Several low-value stocks poised to move on above-average volume today are:
QLT Inc (NASDAQ: QLTI): QLTI said that it has broken even in Q4 on an adjusted basis, as against the consensus expectation of a loss of $0.02 a share. Although the biopharmaceutical company’s revenues declined 9% year-over-year, it beat the Street view of $8.4 million. The company has also offered better-than-expected revenue forecasts for 2010. QLTI fell 0.81% to trade at $4.89.
Jamba (NASDAQ: JMBA): While analysts had expected the company to post a loss of $0.15 a share for Q4, JMBA announced a loss of $0.23 a share. JMBA’s revenues were down nearly 10% y/y, much worse than was expected. After declining more than 5% in the after-market session, JMBA has slipped 7.92%.
US Concrete (RMIX): RMIX may fall today, after having posted wider-than-expected losses for Q4. While analysts expected a loss of $0.31 per share, the concrete-products maker recorded a loss of $0.46 per share for the quarter. RMIX’s revenues were also short of the consensus expectations. The company has indicated that its liquidity is being constrained by severe weather conditions and the lack of successful restructuring, which has raised doubts in RMIX’s ability to continue. RMIX’s shares have lost 24.22% so far today.
