Cisco Systems, Inc.’s (CSCO) New Router To Transmit Three Times As Much Data

The Wall Street Journal reports that Cisco System, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCO) made an addition to its best-known product lines on Tuesday, the routers which will help carriers direct traffic on the internet.

The company’s new equipment can transmit three times as much data as it does on the current hardware. However, the new equipment will not directly translate into faster internet connections for consumers.

According to John Chambers, Cisco’s CEO, the latest version is a step that is really needed today given the growing internet traffic.
