It has been 10 years since the Y2K scare and Sony (NYSE: SNE) is experiencing similar issues with older models of its infamous PlayStation 3.

A bug in the clock functioning knocked several users from the online network. Although the older models are affected, the newer, slim versions are still working properly.

What exactly is occurring? The console's clock keeps resetting to January 1, 2000.

Sony is aware of the issue and plans to have it resolved very soon.

The company is up 1.93% today in trading.
