Private Equity Firms Team Up To Bid On Interactive Data (IDC, PSO)

Private equity firms Bain Capital and Advent International are working on a joint bid for Pearson-controlled (NYSE: PSO) Interactive Data Corp. (NYSE: IDC). Reportedly, Silver Lake Partners and Hellman & Friedman are also working together to bid on the financial market data provider Interactive Data Corp (IDC).

Pearson Plc. (PSO) owns 61 percent stake in IDC. Pearson’s stake is worth about $1.5 billion. Pearson is likely to use the transaction proceeds to buy companies focusing on education in emerging markets. Both the IDC and Pearson have refused to comment.
