Soros Raises GLD Stake

Billionaire investor George Soros raised his stake in the SPDR Gold Shares ETF (NYSE: GLD), the second-largest ETF in the world, by assets to 6.2 million shares at the end of the fourth quarter from 2.5 million shares at the end of the third quarter.

That values Soros' stake at $663 million. Hedge fund manager John Paulson is the largest GLD shareholder. Earlier this month, China Investment Corp., that country's $300 billion sovereign wealth fund, disclosed a stake of more than $150 million in GLD.
