Sony Ericsson Unveils Three New Smartphones (SNE)
Sony Ericsson, the phone-making joint venture of Sony Corp. (NYSE: SNE) and Sweden’s Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC), has announced the launch of new smartphones. Sony Ericsson is trying to recapture its market share in the smartphone market. Its shares fell below 5% in the latest quarter.
The new mobile phones run on Symbian and Android mobile OS. Its Vivaz pro handset sports Symbian OS and has a QWERTY keyboard. Other handsets Xperia X10 mini and the mini pro run on Android. All these phones will be available in selected markets from the second quarter.
