Airlines Charge for Blankets

If you already think airlines are being ridiculous with their price increases for baggage, this will only set you even more on edge. American Airlines has decided to start charging $8 for a blanket for those traveling coach.

The current economy has airlines struggling just like everyone else, but charging those in coach more is not exactly acceptable. Those traveling in coach and needing a blanket are more likely to be elderly or a child. With the high unemployment rate, traveling via plane is already a strain; adding $8 for a blanket is a bit ridiculous and insensitive. When will it be enough?

Only time will tell if other airlines follow suit. As for me and my family, we will not be traveling with American Airlines.
