Costco Wholesale Corp (NASDAQ: COST) saw an 8% rise in sales in same-stores in the month of January, beating analysts’ estimates.

Analysts had expected 7.8% rise in same-store sales in January. These rises were on the back of higher gas prices and a weak dollar. Net sales of the company rose by 10% to $5.62 billion. While international division sales zoomed by 25%, same-store sales in the US rose by 4%. If the impact of gas prices and dollar prices were to be excluded, the sales in the US would have been flat and international same-store sales would have risen just by 9%.
