Medivation, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDVN) was the start up that convinced the world’s largest drug company Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) to help it in the development of Dimebon, a 27 year old hay fever treatment which is now being used as a new treatment against Alzheimer’s disease.

Data related to the role of Dimebon in fighting Alzheimer's could be a turning point for Medivation, which does not have any other products as of now. This data revolves around findings in Russia that if patients of Alzheimer’s took 3 tablets a day of Dimebon, they had clearer thinking and better functioning.
