Toyota (TM) Recall Extends To Europe, Safety And Reliability Questioned
January 28, 2010 9:13 AM
Toyota Motor Corp. (ADR) (NYSE: TM) is expected to recall most of its cars in the European region as a result of the dangerous accelerator pedals.
This could be a big blow to the reputation of Toyota Motors. A spokesperson at Toyota Europe said that the number of vehicles to be recalled is yet to be decided; however there was no need to stop production. The production of Toyota’s best selling models, including the Camry, was brought to a halt in North America, thus casting doubt on TM’s once unshakable reputation for safety and reliability.
