According to Techcrunch,, publishers are rushing to adapt their content for a touch screen environment like iPad from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL).

This is not all that easy, as it is a bit of a challenge to convert static text into a more dynamic digital environment. There are some startups that have sprung up to help publishers in this transitory phase. One of these companies is Inkling which is a start up funded by angel investors.

These startups are assisting publishers to digitize their content so that learners can start relying more on digital content. Another such company is Pixelmags which wants to help publishers to add streaming video in addition to text on online magazines.
